Poetry, over my life, has changed in it's meaning. I remember being forced to read poetry in high school and then to answer questions and write papers on it's meaning. It wasn't until college that I began to search poetry out on my own. After college, the realization of past memories and a very abusive relationship, I began to write poetry of my own. At first it was simply for my myself; a cleansing which enabled me to get in touch with my true feelings. I kept these poems in a notebook near my heart. Slowly I learned to share them with a few friends and their encouragement helped me want to share them with more people. Now each time I share one is a new experience in opening myself up and sharing my experiences with others. Hence the birth of this website.
